1. Introduction
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ReadVego, including our mobile applications, website, and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Pragmatic Devs SRL, Str. Visarion 22, Bucharest, Romania ("ReadVego," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, or by otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not create an account or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must meet the following requirements to use ReadVego:
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher.
- If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
- You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

3. Your Account
You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple or Google. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date;
- Keep your credentials secure and not share your account with others;
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account;
- Notify us promptly at support@readvego.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
You can permanently delete your account and all of its data at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app, without contacting support.
4. ReadVego Services
ReadVego turns books into a language-learning experience. The Service includes:
- Reading bundled public-domain classics and books you import from your device;
- Tapping a word to see its translation, pronunciation, and an example of how it is used;
- Saving words to a personal vocabulary list and reviewing them over time;
- Asking questions about a story, answered using only the chapters you have reached;
- Difficulty analyses that estimate whether a book fits your level;
- Reading goals, streaks, statistics, and optional reading reminders.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. Some features are subject to daily limits that depend on your plan (see Section 11).
5. Books and Content
The classic books bundled with the app are in the public domain. Any other content we make available is provided under a license or with permission from the relevant rights holders. We may add or remove bundled content at any time.
You may read content made available through the Service for your personal, non-commercial language learning only. You may not copy, redistribute, or publish it outside the Service except as the law allows for public-domain works.
6. User-Uploaded Content
ReadVego lets you import book files (for example, PDFs) from your device. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights and permissions to use, store, and read any file you import. You are solely responsible for your imported content.
Imported books are private to your account and are not shared with other users. We do not review imported files, but we may remove content and suspend accounts that we believe infringe the rights of others or violate these Terms.
Book ratings and reviews you submit are public and are shown with your display name and profile photo. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display them within the Service for as long as they remain published.
7. AI Features
Translations, explanations, difficulty analyses, and story answers are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. They are provided for language-learning assistance only and are not professional, educational, legal, or other advice. Verify anything important with an authoritative source.
You agree not to use automated means to access the AI features, to resell access to them, or to attempt to bypass their usage limits.
8. Translation and Language Learning
Translations, definitions, and explanations provided through ReadVego are intended as educational and learning tools. Language is nuanced, and a given word or phrase may carry multiple meanings depending on context, dialect, or usage. ReadVego does not guarantee any particular learning outcome, exam result, or level of fluency.
9. Intellectual Property
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use ReadVego on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the usage rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
The Service, its design, code, and the ReadVego name and logo are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the license described above, no rights are granted to you.
10. Prohibited Uses
ReadVego has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to:
- Upload, store, or share content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative of minors, or otherwise objectionable;
- Use the Service to violate anyone's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, security controls, or the app store's payment system;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its servers, or use it to build a competing product;
- Use automated means to access the AI features or resell access to them.
11. Subscriptions and Payments
ReadVego is free to download. The free plan includes 25 word translations and 5 story questions per day. The optional Premium plan raises these limits to 300 translations and 50 questions per day and is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. We do not process or store your payment card details.
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Premium access until then.
- Deleting your ReadVego account does not cancel an active store subscription. Cancel it separately in your App Store or Google Play settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the app stores. We may void referral commissions associated with a refunded purchase.
- We may change plan features, limits, or pricing going forward. For price increases on an existing subscription, we will give notice and obtain your consent where the app store requires it.
12. Termination
You may stop using ReadVego and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice before doing so.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 7, 9, and 13 to 17, will survive.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content will be accurate.
Nothing in these Terms affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived or limited by contract under the laws of the country where you live.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReadVego and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless ReadVego and its operators from any third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you import or publish through the Service, or from your violation of these Terms or of the rights of others.
If you use the Service as a consumer, this section applies only to the extent the loss was caused by your breach of these Terms and does not limit your statutory consumer rights.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, legal or regulatory requirements, or our practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, through the Service or by email — before the changes take effect. Your continued use of ReadVego after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms or the Service will be resolved by the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania.
If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country where the law allows it.
18. App Store Terms
If you downloaded ReadVego from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and ReadVego only, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for any product warranties, product claims, or intellectual property claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded ReadVego from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
